Convention

Für die Convention vom 24. bis 26. Mai 2013 baten wir alle  Mitglieder und alle Freunde des Iyengar Yoga wieder nach Berlin. Wir freuten uns auf den Unterricht bei Raya Uma Datta aus dem Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute Pune, Indien.

Der Veranstaltungsort, die Max-Schmeling-Halle,war vielen von euch sicher noch aus dem Jahr 2002 in guter Erinnerung, als Geeta S. Iyengar zu Gast in Berlin war. Zum Buffet am Freitag Abend luden wir euch auf das nahe gelegene Gelände der Kulturbrauerei in den Frannz-Club ein.

Raya Uma Datta

has attended the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune since 10 years of age. At the age of 20, he began teaching classes for children at R.I.M.Y.I.. In 1998 he was part of an asana demonstration for the celebration of Guruji’s 80th birthday. After that demonstration Guruji initiated Raya into practice. Since 2002 he is one of the teachers of General Classes at R.I.M.Y.I. He accompanied Guruji in Russia in 2009 and China in 2011, and was part of Geetaji’s entourage for the Convention in Australia in 2009 and South Africa in 2011. In Israel and in Canada he has given seminars and a Convention.

He studied philosophy (BA – MA in Philosophy). Passionate about photography, he was part of the team that made the photo calendar for Guruji’s 93rd birthday. At other times, he indulges in long distance riding on his motorcycle!
